The Taliban accused Pakistan on Friday of carrying out new airstrikes on Kabul and several other Afghan provinces, including an attack on a civilian fuel depot in Kandahar, warning that the “flagrant aggression will not go unanswered.”

At least four people were killed and fifteen others wounded—among them women and children—when Pakistani warplanes struck a residential area of the Afghan capital, according to Kabul Police spokesman Khalid Zadran.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement on X that Pakistani forces had bombed Kabul, Kandahar, Paktia and Paktika provinces, targeting civilian homes and a Kam Air aviation fuel facility near Kandahar airport. The Taliban maintains the depot supplies fuel to commercial airlines and United Nations aircraft in the city, which hosts the group’s supreme leader, Hibatullah Akhundzada.

“The Islamic Emirate condemns this crime and this flagrant aggression in the strongest terms,” Mujahid said.

The strikes mark the second time in two weeks that Pakistan has bombed Afghan territory. The current escalation began on February 27.

Last Sunday, Taliban Defense Minister Mohammad Yaqoob Mujahid warned that Kabul would strike Islamabad if Pakistani bombardments continued, asserting that Afghan forces are prepared for a protracted conflict.
