The Saint Lucia Chapter of AntiFascist International condemned the US military deployment. in Caribbean waters, accusing it of covert aggression against Venezuela, denouncing that the anti-drug operation is a pretext to attack Venezuelan sovereignty, highlighting that international organizations certify the anti-drug cooperation of Caracas.

“Such agencies have also consistently certified Venezuela as not being a welcome transit point for drug trafficking, in or from Latin America and the Caribbean. That Venezuela and Mexico have become US targets for punishment in Washington’s claimed ‘war on drugs’ is also questionable, as the US is taking no visible steps to address the phenomenal domestic market for the illegal drugs it claims to be fighting abroad,” the organisation states.

The Saint Lucian antifascist chapter denounced “as the world now knows, the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) is fully knowledgeable of all the veritable locations of the worst illegal drug-trafficking entities in Latin America and the Caribbean – and is in fact accused, in many cases, of colluding with or conveniently ignoring, for unstated reasons.”

St. Lucia’s International Antifascist highlighted that Venezuela is a historical partner of the Caribbean through initiatives like PetroCaribe, while demanding that the region be maintained as a Zone of Peace. The statement concludes by supporting the Bolivarian Revolution and condemning the actions of the U.S. and Israel against sovereign peoples.

“The Caribbean Community (CARICOM) benefitted greatly from Venezuela’s PetroCaribeTCP agreement, which helped almost-all member-states with access to cheaper energy bills and opened the way for an eventual Free Trade Zone among Latin American States.” Highlighting also that the historical ties between Castries and Caracas, “built by the connection between the Caribbean and Venezuela by Jean Baptiste Bideau and Simon Bolivar in the fight for and defence of Venezuela’s independence,” remain strong to this day.

The organisation pointed out that Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre has shown solidarity with Venezuela and voiced concerns about military build-up in Caribbean waters threatening regional peace. Venezuela faces coercive measures undermining its sovereignty, as this occurs amidst Israel’s war against Palestinians, with bombings, starvation in Gaza, and assassinations of leaders in Yemen and elsewhere. The Netanyahu regime’s actions include assassinating scientists and resistance leaders in Iran, Gaza, and other nations.

In this regard, the St. Lucia’s antifascist organisation marked that US military forces deployment in the Caribbean and Latin America risks escalating the region into an unprecedented conflict, but Venezuela is not alone in opposing this aggression. Venezuela remains committed to dialogue, international law, and building a just, multipolar world order.

In addition, the Saint Lucia Chapter of Anti-Fascist International expresses solidarity with Venezuela against US-led fascist aggression and attempts to control its government. Venezuela’s oil and gas resources belong to the nation, and it will not yield to US intimidation. Supported by global peace advocates, Venezuela will persist in defending the Bolivarian Revolution initiated by Hugo Chavez and continued by Nicolás Maduro and the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV). The Venezuelan people’s right to elect their leaders freely is fundamental and deserves worldwide support.
