“The blowing up of the bridge and the passenger train accident in Bryansk show that Ukraine is run by a terrorist organization,” said influential Senator Andrei Klishas on his Telegram channel.

The Kremlin reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been informed “virtually all night” about what happened by the Federal Security Service and the Ministry for Emergency Situations.

Two train derailments occurred in Russia following the collapse of bridges in the Briansk and Kursk regions. In Briansk, a bridge collapsed over a passenger train bound for Moscow, causing the death of seven people, including the driver of a lorry driving across the bridge, and injuring about 70 people.

The bridge in Kursk collapsed when a freight train passed, falling on a road without traffic. The engineer and two assistants were injured, according to the governor of Kursk, Alexandr Jinshtéin.

These events took place after Putin announced his decision to create a security zone on the border with the regions of Briansk, Kursk and Belgorod, which would include territory from the Ukrainian regions of Kharkov and Sumi.

The governor of Bryansk, Alexandr Bogomaz, was the first to report that the bridge had been blown up after initially reporting “illegal interference in transport activities.”

“The bridge explosion occurred during the circulation of the Klimov-Moscow train, which was carrying 388 passengers. At the moment, there are seven dead and three children injured,” Bogomaz told television.

Subsequently, the spokeswoman for the Investigative Committee of Russia, Svetalna Petrenko, announced that the incident is being investigated as terrorism.

“Ukraine lost the features of a State a long time ago and has become a terrorist enclave, without borders, without legitimate bodies and without law. The response is a security strip so wide that it excludes the incursion of terrorists into our territory in the future,” Klishas insisted.
