“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs notes the disappearance of the conditions for maintaining this unilateral moratorium on the deployment of such weapons and is authorized to declare that the Russian Federation no longer considers itself bound by the limitations it imposed on itself in the past,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated.
“The INF Treaty, which banned ground-launched missiles with ranges of 500–5,500 km, collapsed in 2019 when Washington withdrew, citing Russian violations,” the RT outlet recalled.
“Moscow has denied the claims, accusing the U.S. itself of developing banned missiles. Russian President Vladimir Putin has warned that the collapse of the INF will significantly erode the global security framework,” it added.
