During an exclusive interview with Iranian funded broadcaster Al Mayadeen, Mofokeng added that “the right to life no longer exists” and “the chance of survival has become nil” in the Palestinian enclave.

The war of starvation waged by the occupation, directed against UN agencies, is simply part of a broader plan to undermine the human rights system and evade accountability, he added in his remarks to Al Mayadeen.

She also described “the destruction of humanitarian infrastructure and the closure of aid agencies” as a deliberate action, amid the political protection given to “Israel” by major powers, even within the halls of the United Nations.

According to her statements, Mofokeng sent early warnings to the occupying authorities about non-compliance with their obligations under international law, without receiving any response.

The UN rapporteur told to Al Mayadeen that health and humanitarian conditions, in its current state, do not permit a decent life or a society capable of surviving and prospering.

Mofokeng also reported that the people of Gaza suffer, in addition to direct injuries, serious psychological consequences such as trauma, persistent stress and lack of sleep, which affect their physical and mental health.

The Special Rapporteur made it clear that the distribution of aid in Gaza through the Israeli-US run “Gaza Humanitarian Organization” is a genocidal strategy, noting that warnings about food, water and medicine deprivation were not heeded, and that people face constant dangers in trying to access aid.

“The world seems to be learning nothing from history… If humanity were really learning, we wouldn’t be in this situation,” highlighted the UN repporteur.

“We are confronted with the frustrations of the Security Council, its repeated vetoes and the indifference of the International Court of Justice. What good is accountability if resolutions are not implemented? ,” she concluded.
