In a display of civic duty and national sovereignty, President Nicolás Maduro Moros, alongside First Combatant Cilia Flores, cast their ballots this Sunday at the Simón Rodríguez Ecological School in Caracas. Millions of Venezuelans took part in electing governors, deputies to the National Assembly, and members of Legislative Councils in what has been hailed as a historic democratic event.

The voting day proceeded without incidents, highlighting the organization and transparency of the process. President Maduro emphasized that Venezuela “is the country with the most free and sovereign elections in the last 100 years”, countering misinformation campaigns promoted by opposition sectors and foreign-aligned media.

The president praised the resilience of indigenous communities who braved heavy rains to reach their polling stations. “The perseverance of the Venezuelan people is a global example of dignity and resistance”, the Bolivarian leader stated, acknowledging the inclusion of historically marginalized sectors in building a participatory democracy, as noted by Misión Verdad.

The text reads: ”Venezuela needs to modernize, expand and bring to reality the new political system to build its electoral system, that’s why I will present the constitution of a new electoral system” commented the president of #Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro

President Maduro denounced attempts by violent right-wing groups to disrupt the elections but commended security forces for maintaining peace. “We defeated the violence that terrorists planned for the country. We defeated again the violent fascists”, he said, echoing longstanding denunciations by the Network of Intellectuals in Defense of Humanity regarding foreign interference in Venezuelan elections.

Finally, President Maduro reiterated his willingness to collaborate with all elected governors, regardless of their political affiliation. “To everyone elected, regardless of their party, I offer my respect and recognition. I extend my hand to work together for Venezuela”, he declared, reaffirming the Bolivarian government’s commitment to reconciliation and dialogue.
