In the weeks leading up to the elections, international observers have reviewed preparations carried out by the National Electoral Council (CNE) and examined electoral protocols across the Venezuelan territory. On Sunday, they will visit polling stations to ensure the transparency of Venezuela’s democratic process.

Maduro emphasized that Venezuela is offering all necessary guarantees for free and sovereign elections. The observers’ visits include verifying voting machines, logistics, and conditions at polling stations.

The international observers come from multilateral organizations, parliaments, and allied political movements, which lends legitimacy and plurality to the monitoring effort.

On Thursday, Rander Peña, vice president for International Affairs of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), informed that he held important meetings with several of the international observers who have already arrived in the country.

Among the observers now on Venezuelan soil are: Wasna Papai Danfa, a member of the Political Bureau and special adviser to the president of the National People’s Assembly of the African Party for the Independence of Guinea and Cape Verde (PAIGCV); Konrad Sitarara, director of the South West Africa People’s Organization (SWAPO) of Namibia; and Kevin Go, secretary of the Congolese Communist Party (PCCO).

Also participating as election observers will be Scholastica Ephraim, president of the Labor Party Organization of Saint Lucia; Harun Armagan, vice president for Foreign Affairs of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) of Türkiye; and Rawashdeh Bassam Abdel Hamid Falah, member of the Central Committee of the Jordanian Democratic People’s Party.
