New reports reveal that Israel is allegedly contaminating humanitarian aid flour with oxycodone in Gaza, using narcotics as a weapon to weaken Palestinian society amid a brutal siege and humanitarian crisis.

The Government Media Office in Gaza has exposed a shocking tactic employed by the Israeli occupation: the deliberate contamination of food aid with narcotics. Oxycodone, a powerful and highly addictive opioid, was found hidden inside bags of flour distributed by the US-Israeli-linked Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), which Palestinians now call “death traps.” This discovery reveals a sinister layer to the ongoing siege and bombardment of Gaza, where hunger and deprivation are weaponized alongside direct military aggression.

According to official reports, at least four testimonies have confirmed finding oxycodone pills inside flour sacks intended for civilian consumption. Local pharmacist Omar Hamad warned that the drug’s presence, whether as pills or mixed into the flour, poses grave health risks, including severe addiction, respiratory failure, loss of consciousness, and death, especially among vulnerable groups like children and the elderly.

The Government Media Office condemned this as a “systematic crime” aimed at spreading addiction and destroying the social fabric of Palestinian society from within, describing the tactic as a form of chemical warfare disguised as humanitarian aid.

This revelation comes amid a catastrophic humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where the Israeli blockade and relentless military attacks have decimated infrastructure and restricted access to food, water, and medical supplies.

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) has reported a halving of water supply capacity and a surge in waterborne diseases, including thousands of cases of acute diarrhea and jaundice. Meanwhile, Israeli forces continue to block critical aid crossings, exacerbating famine risks for the enclave’s 2.3 million residents.

The Gaza Ministry of Health reports over 549 Palestinians killed and more than 4,000 injured near aid distribution points since May, underscoring the deadly conditions civilians face even when seeking basic sustenance. Humanitarian workers and activists denounce the use of aid centers as “death traps,” where starvation and violence combine to terrorize the population.

Palestinian authorities and human rights organizations have denounced the use of narcotics in food aid as a war crime and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law. The Government Media Office has called on the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and the International Criminal Court to investigate and intervene to halt these “death trap” operations.

They emphasize the urgent need to lift the siege and ensure that all aid is delivered transparently through legitimate UN channels, free from manipulation by Israeli or U.S.-linked entities.

The discovery of oxycodone in humanitarian aid flour is a chilling example of the multifaceted assault on Palestinian life, where physical violence is compounded by covert strategies to weaken and destabilize Gaza’s population.

This tactic exemplifies the ongoing colonial and genocidal policies of the Israeli occupation, supported by U.S. imperialism. It demands urgent international solidarity, condemnation, and action to protect Palestinian lives and uphold their right to dignity, health, and sovereignty.
