On Independence Day, Venezuelan Parliament Honors Kidnapped Children’s Mothers in the US

The National Assembly of Venezuela commemorated the 214th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence in a solemn session, commemoration dedicated to the mothers of Venezuelan children “kidnapped” in the United States, a call for the defense of human rights and national sovereignty.

The deputies present observed a minute of silence in honour of these mothers, who, according to the Parliament, embody the pain of forced separation imposed by migratory policies that violate family ties.
Rodríguez recalled that the fundamental principles established in the Act of Independence remain fully valid in the 21st century, particularly in the defense of self-determination and resistance to any form of external domination.
President of the Parliament, Jorge Rodriguez, reaffirmed that “there will be no power in the world that doubles the legacy of liberators.”
Rodríguez emphasized the strength of the Bolivarian project in the face of external pressures saying that the homeland “which our liberators founded remains unshakeable to any imperial threat,” Establishing a parallel between the independence struggles of the 19th century and contemporary challenges.
Rodríguez recalled that the fundamental principles established in the Act of Independence remain fully valid in the 21st century, particularly in the defense of self-determination and resistance to any form of external domination.
The parliamentary leader stressed that Venezuela keeps alive the libertarian flame lit by Simón Bolívar, Francisco de Miranda and Antonio José de Sucre, among other leaders who forged South American independence.
Deputies from different political currents met in a parliamentary session, agreeing on the importance of national unity based on independence principles. The session concluded with a message of resistance and hope, reaffirming Venezuela’s libertarian vocation and recalling the legacy of historical figures in the struggle for freedom.
