Nicaragua greets the Russian people for National Unity Day

The Government of Nicaragua sent an official message to the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, on Monday on the occasion of the Day of National Unity that is celebrated on November 4.

“Our warmest congratulations to you, to the heroic people and Government of the Russian Federation, on the occasion of the Day of National Unity, on November 4,” says the letter signed by the co-presidents of Nicaragua Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.

The text highlights the 413th anniversary of the Liberation of Moscow under the leadership of Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin, and stresses that the date “pays tribute to the military feats and national decorum of their ancestors” while “reminding us of the strength of national unity in difficult and turbulent times to fight battles against foreign interference”.

 The message closes with “our fraternal embrace, wishes for love, peace and prosperity to the Russian people” and the affection of all Nicaraguan families.

Russia and Nicaragua have a long-standing collaboration, this relationship has been sustained beyond global political changes, with regular exchanges, joint training and bilateral agreements
