Israelis massively gathered in the streets of Tel Aviv this Saturday to protest the Zionist regime’s decision to escalate its offensive in the Gaza Strip, while demanding a ceasefire and the release of hostages held by the resistance movement Hamas.

“This is not just a military decision. It could be a death sentence for the people we love most,” said Lishay Miran Lavi, wife of Israeli hostage Omri Miran, during the protest, in statements shared by the
Nira Sharabi, wife of Israeli hostage Yossi Sharabi, who died in an Israeli Air strike on Gaza, stated that her husband lost his life “because of the intensity of the conflict.”
“Yossi could have come back to us if they had brought everyone back quickly and decisively (…) No woman should experience what I have experienced,” Sharabi said to the protesters.
The Israeli government’s security cabinet, with authority to make decisions about the course of the war, approved a plan by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu early on Friday to expand the offensive and seize the city of Gaza, where an estimated one million Palestinians live, many of them displaced.
The plan has been rejected by the families of the Israeli hostages still in the Strip (30 dead and 20 alive, according to Israeli estimates) and criticized by the military, which fears that expanding the fighting could endanger the hostages’ lives and lead to significant casualties among the armed forces, which have been committing genocide in Gaza for almost two years.
According to a report from Gazan Ministry of Health, the total number of victims reached 61,369 martyrs and 152,850 injured since October 7, 2023.
