Several countries around the world have strongly condemned Israel’s aggressive and expansionist plans to occupy the city of Gaza, warning that this move would lead to even greater loss of life, widespread forced displacement of Palestinians, and the complete collapse of any hope for a lasting diplomatic solution.

U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer described this Friday as a “mistake” the Zionist regime’s plan to “control” the city of Gaza, which was approved by the security cabinet.

In this regard, he demanded that “Tel Aviv” immediately reconsider the measure and warned that it would lead to more bloodshed without achieving the release of the prisoners or the end of the conflict.

For Starmer, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza worsens every day, while Israeli prisoners face atrocious conditions. The United Kingdom is set to recognize the Palestinian State before de United Nations the next month. However, the PM upholds that the resistance movement Hamas “should have no role in the future of Gaza and must leave the territory and disarm”.

Netanyahu’s interests in the enclave also drew criticism from Finnish PM Elena Valtonen and Dutch PM Casper Veldkamp, who pointed out that this only deepens the humanitarian crisis and delays reaching an actual solution.

Meanwhile, Germany—Israel’s second-biggest ally after the U.S.—announced a partial weapons embargo against Tel Aviv, citing the annexation project as the main reason.

Furthermore, Turkey’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to prevent the implementation of the Israeli plan and urged the UN Security Council to take binding measures to halt the occupation and establish an immediate ceasefire.

On this line, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, warned about the expansionist project and its role in causing more deaths, suffering, and atrocious crimes.
