Israeli occupation forces on Friday continued their massive spree of home demolitions in the occupied West Bank city of Tulkarm and the adjoining refugee camps, according to WAFA correspondent.

She said that the occupation forces proceeded with the large-scale demolition of Palestinians’ houses and residential buildings in the city and the nearby refugee camps of Tulkarm and Nur Shams as the military aggression on Tulkarm city and refugee camp entered the 138th and on Nur Shams entered the 125th consecutive day.

She elaborated that Israeli army bulldozers tore down residential buildings in Tulkarm camp, one of the most densely populated refugee camps in the West Bank, for the eighth consecutive day as part of a plan targeting 106 buildings in both the Tulkarm and Nur Shams refugee camps — 58 of which are located in Tulkarm.

These structures comprise more than 250 residential units and numerous commercial establishments. The occupying forces also continue to impose a tight siege on the city and the refugee camps, simultaneously while infantry soldiers continue to be deployed in the alleyways and at the entrances of the targeted neighborhoods, preventing residents from returning to their houses to inspect the damage or retrieve personal belongings, and firing at anyone approaching the area.

Over the past few days, the Nur Shams camp was the target of continued demolitions, leading to the demolition of over 20 buildings under the occupation army efforts to widen roads and reshape the refugee camps — assertions widely rejected by Palestinian officials and human rights groups.

Meanwhile, the gun-toting soldiers continued to take over residential buildings on the Nablus Street and in parts of the northern neighborhood of the city, forcibly displacing the families and turning the buildings into military outposts and barracks.

The occupation forces have been taking over some of such buildings for over four months. The soldiers had constructed earth berms on the Nablus Street, which links Tulkarm camp to the Nur Shams camp, several months ago, resulting in extensive damages.

They continued to set up checkpoints on the street, obstructing the movement of civilians and aggravating their suffering.

This ongoing aggression has so far resulted in the killing of 13 civilians, including a child and two women, one of whom was eight months pregnant. It has also resulted in dozens of injuries and detentions, as well as widespread destruction of infrastructure, homes, shops, and vehicles.

Latest estimates indicate that the aggression has displaced over 5,000 families from the two camps, comprising over 25,000 Palestinians, completely destroyed at least 400 houses, partially damaged 2,753 others, as soldiers continued to block the entrances with barriers, turning the camps into areas that are void of any sign of life.
