Since June 13, Israel has targeted residential areas in Iran as well as military, energy, civilian and nuclear facilities.
On Tuesday, the Kremlin said Israel has so far shown no interest in Russian mediation to end its armed conflict with Iran or any willingness to “pursue a path of peaceful resolution.”

Dmitry Peskov, spokesperson for the Russian Presidency, said the situation in the Middle East is “extremely alarming,” “completely unpredictable” and marked by a “rapid escalation.”
“At this time, we see reluctance, at least on Israel’s part, to engage in any mediation efforts or, in general, to choose the path of peaceful settlement,” he stated during his daily teleconference briefing.
The Kremlin spokesman said Moscow has taken note of statements from U.S. and Israeli officials regarding the need to evacuate Tehran or eliminate Iran’s religious leader.
“Of course, we have seen and heard these statements. The situation is alarming and is following a path of rapid escalation,” he said, urging all parties to exercise “maximum restraint” to eventually find a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the conflict.
Regarding the evacuation of Russian citizens from Iran, Peskov said efforts are ongoing around the clock. The day before, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov said Iran is exercising its right to self-defense in response to what he called unjustified Israeli attacks.
Since June 13, Israel has targeted military, energy, civilian and nuclear facilities in Iran, as well as multiple residential areas in Tehran. In response, Iran has launched several waves of attacks against Israel.
