“We are going to totally occupy the Gaza Strip” said Netanyahu’s spokesperson to Israeli media. The Prime Minister of the Zionist entity has scheduled a meeting of the security cabinet for today with the intention of “going for the full occupation” of the enclave, as reported by a senior official in a meeting with the Israeli press and confirmed to EFE Agency by sources from the office of the head of government.

However, other political sources pointed out that “the decision has not yet been made, and the cabinet will decide,” according to Channel 14.
“The prime minister will convene a security debate tomorrow (meaning today) on the continuation of the fighting and its expansion to areas where hostages are feared to be held. The security forces oppose operations in locations where hostages are being held, for fear of causing them harm,” reads a statement EFE had access to.
On this matter, Netanyahu’s spokesperson commented that “there will be operations even in the areas where the hostages are located. If the Chief of Staff does not agree, he should resign”, referring to the head of the Army, Eyal Zamir, in light of the security establishment’s opposition to this measure.
Army Radio confirmed that the tension between the Lieutenant General Zamir and the political leadership has reached its peak.
In closed-door conversations, Zamir is said to have warned that a prolonged presence in Gaza “endangers Israeli forces, benefits Hamas, and increases wear and tear within the army,” Al-Mayadeen reported.
If no agreement is reached, the army will present two options: a full occupation of the Gaza Strip — which Zamir opposes — and a strategy of containment and attrition, supported by the military leadership.
Yedioth Ahronoth claims that US President Donald Trump had effectively granted Tel Aviv’s regime permission to intensify the military campaign.
Ignoring global demands for a ceasefire, the IDF has commited a relentless genocide on Gaza since October 7, 2023, resulting in the deaths of nearly 61,000 Palestinians, with women and children making up nearly half of the victims. This devastating assault has left the Gaza Strip in ruins and pushed its population to the brink of starvation.
