The bombing of an elementary school constitutes an obvious war crime.

On Tuesday, thousands of Iranians crowded the streets of Minab to pay tribute to those killed by U.S.-Israeli bombs on Feb. 28.

On Saturday, 171 girls, parents and teachers died at the Shahareh Tayyebeh elementary school as a result of indiscriminate bombings against civilian urban areas.

To date, the Minab school bombing has been the deadliest event in the military operation “Epic Fury” launched by U.S. President Donald Trump against Iran.

The fact that this attack was carried out against a facility filled with children in broad daylight shows that Washington’s objectives are not limited to military infrastructure but seek to sow terror in the Iranian population.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, has called for an investigation into the attack on the Minab school because it may constitute a war crime.

During the funerals, attendees carried small coffins wrapped in the Iranian flag while chanting slogans against the policy of extermination that Western powers are applying in Asia.

This farewell ceremony not only represented a national mourning but also a demonstration of resistance against the barbarism of those who use military force to try to break the sovereignty of peoples.

Iranian authorities denounced that this mass infanticide is irrefutable proof of U.S.-Israeli contempt for international law and human life.

While the White House tries to justify its actions under the narrative of “preventive attacks,” the reality on the ground shows schools reduced to rubble and a generation of girls cut down by high-tech weaponry.

The Minab massacre sparked a wave of global outrage, with reminders from various parts of the world that the deliberate attack on educational institutions constitutes a “war crime” under international law.

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei denounced that Israel and the U.S. carry out indiscriminate attacks against residential areas, hospitals, and cultural monuments, ignoring any principle of civilian distinction.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims and denounced the aggression as an act of extermination against innocent children that will not go unpunished before international justice.

Iranian authorities also emphasized that the world is witnessing how the Western powers, which usually boast of defending human rights, finance and execute the killing of children.

From Feb. 28 to March 3, the U.S.-Israeli military war has left 787 dead in Iran, according to the Red Crescent Society.
