‘We are fully prepared for any scenario, under any circumstances,’ Gen. Salami warned.
On Thursday, the commander in chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard, Gen. Hossein Salami, said his country is prepared for a “war at any level” and will respond to any Israeli aggression.

“The enemy sometimes threatens us with military action. We have always said—and we repeat now—that we are fully prepared for any scenario, under any circumstances,” Salami said during an event in Tehran.
The head of the elite military corps emphasized that Iran’s Armed Forces are “ready for war at any level.” He also warned that if his country is attacked, Israel will not be facing “the besieged and defenseless Palestinians of Gaza.”
On Thursday, the chief of staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Gen. Mohammad Hossein Bagheri, announced the launch of military drills across the country to “enhance defensive strength, operational readiness, and deterrence capability.”
These warnings come after The New York Times and Sky News reported that Israel may be preparing to launch an attack against Iran.
Previously, on Wednesday, the United States announced it would withdraw personnel from its embassy in Baghdad amid escalating threats with Iran over nuclear negotiations.
This followed remarks by Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, who said Tehran would strike all U.S. bases in the Middle East if the Persian nation is attacked, as President Donald Trump has threatened.
Since April 12, Iran and the U.S. have held five rounds of indirect talks, hosted by Oman, amid significant disagreements over Iran’s uranium enrichment program, which Washington wants to halt. The most recent round of talks took place on May 23, and a new meeting is scheduled for this Sunday in Muscat.
Amid these rising tensions, Iran announced today that it will activate an enrichment facility and install advanced centrifuges at another site in retaliation for a resolution passed against it by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), which says Iran is violating its nuclear obligations.
