Iran Denies Imminent US Negotiations — Iran-US-Negotiations
In a firm statement on Saturday, July 5, 2025, the Islamic Republic of Iran categorically denied rumors suggesting an imminent resumption of indirect negotiations with the United States. The spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Esmail Baghaei, labeled such reports as “incorrect speculation,” emphasizing that no date has been set for any form of dialogue.
He further noted that the current mood within Iranian public opinion is one of deep anger and distrust toward Washington, to the extent that “no official dares to even mention negotiations or diplomacy” at this stage.
This comes after the cancellation of the sixth round of nuclear talks, originally scheduled for June 15 in Oman, following a major Israeli military offensive against Iranian facilities. The Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs, Majid Takht-Ravanchi, had already dismissed similar claims earlier in June, reiterating that no new negotiations were planned.

Israeli Aggression and Regional Escalation
The renewed tensions trace back to Israel’s June 13 attack on Iranian nuclear and military installations — an act that Tehran accuses Washington of supporting. The strike resulted in dozens of casualties, including prominent scientists and high-ranking officials, triggering a sharp escalation in the region and halting all diplomatic progress.
Since then, Iran has rejected any proposal that would require suspending or limiting its uranium enrichment program. The government insists on its right to pursue peaceful nuclear development, while demanding the removal of sanctions and an end to external pressures before engaging in any meaningful dialogue.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reiterated that any future return to negotiations will be based solely on national interests, with no immediate commitment expected. This stance remains unchanged despite former U.S. President Donald Trump’s claim that both sides could “talk next week” and potentially “sign a deal” regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
War Crime Allegations Against Israel
During his press briefing, Baghaei also condemned new aspects of alleged Israeli war crimes, particularly the deadly assault on a prison hospital in Evin, which resulted in 79 confirmed deaths. He described the attack as a clear violation of international humanitarian law and called for global accountability.
“Iran demands justice for these atrocities committed against our civilian population,” said Baghaei, urging the international community to take decisive action against what he referred to as “aggressor entities.”
The incident adds to growing accusations against Israel for disproportionate use of force and targeting civilian infrastructure, allegations that have drawn criticism from several UN agencies and human rights organizations.
