Iran has launched a large-scale missile and drone offensive, dubbed Operation True Promise III, in retaliation for recent Israeli airstrikes on its territory. The strikes targeted dozens of Israeli military sites across the occupied Palestinian territories, including Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Al-Muruj, and Tiberias.

In an official statement, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) described the attack as a “precise and crushing response” to what it called Israeli aggression. The operation, carried out under the guidance of Iran’s Supreme Leader and with strong public backing, marked one of the most extensive retaliatory campaigns in the region in recent years.
According to Iranian military sources, several Arash suicide drones hit their designated targets deep within Israeli-controlled territory. For the first time, Iran reportedly launched a hypersonic missile from a submarine as part of the strike.
The Israeli military confirmed the attacks and activated nationwide air raid sirens, urging residents to remain in or near bomb shelters. U.S. Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee described the situation as “a tense and difficult night,” as emergency protocols were enacted across the country.
Local media outlets reported a direct missile hit on a strategic facility in southern Tel Aviv. Authorities have reportedly restricted press access to several of the impacted areas. Additionally, widespread power outages have been confirmed in multiple zones across the occupied territories.
The IRGC stated that the operation involved high-precision, smart weapons systems, and claimed that over 150 Israeli military targets were successfully hit. Iranian air defense forces also reported the downing of two Israeli F-35 fighter jets, a claim not yet verified by independent observers or international military sources.
Explosions were heard throughout the southern occupied territories as sirens continued to wail in Jerusalem. Reports suggest that Haifa may be a potential next target in the ongoing escalation.
Meanwhile, thousands of Iranians took to the streets in cities across the country to express support for the operation, waving national flags and chanting slogans in favor of resistance. The offensive followed a televised speech by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, in which he promised a strong response and warned that Israel would “pay the price” for its military actions.
