This attack exposes the vulnerability of the high-tech hub from which Israel designs its most lethal weapons.

On Friday, an Iranian cluster missile struck the city of Beersheba, injuring at least 18 people and causing significant damage to a high-tech district.

The projectile landed near a Microsoft building and sparked fires. The attack was part of Iran’s “True Promise 3” operation, a retaliatory campaign launched after Israel’s June 13 strikes on military, scientific and civilian targets in Iran.

Friday’s strike marked the 16th missile barrage fired by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in response to what it called “Zionist aggressions.”

The Iranian attack exposed another failure in Israel’s air defense system, which failed to intercept the missile. Beersheba’s mayor and other local officials confirmed that Israel’s missile defense system did not even attempt to stop the projectile.

The text reads, “Spanish channel Channel 6 launched a virulent attack on Netanyahu, who described the Iranian attack on the Beersheba hospital as a war crime. The network highlighted that Netanyahu and his defense minister destroyed 94% of Gaza’s hospitals. It also called his statements a mockery from someone committing genocide in Gaza.”

Beyond its symbolic significance, the Iranian strike hit key components of Israel’s digital infrastructure, including the Beersheba Cyber Security and Advanced Technology Center.

Currently, Beersheba is home to the Gav Yam Technology Park, a center where Israeli universities, civilian, and military contractors concentrate R&D companies and cutting-edge technologies for their regional aggression operations. This high-tech hub is a central node in the development of electromagnetic interception systems, multi-domain operational planning, computer systems, and electronic weapons.

“Israel’s Channel 12 reported that 25 rockets were fired from Iran toward Israel. It added that Iranian rockets fell in six locations in the greater Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Beersheba areas… The Israeli Army Radio later reported that the Iranian missile that fell in the city of Beersheba this morning was a cluster missile and caused significant damage,” the AA agency reported.

The Nevatim Air Base, located in the northern Negev Desert, was also targeted in this latest wave of Iranian missiles. Alert sirens sounded across the region as Israeli authorities assessed the damage and worked to contain fires.
