The U.S. is complicit in these crimes and must be expelled from the region, Ayatollah Khamenei said.

On Wednesday, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei condemned what he called Israel’s “shocking crimes” amid its “genocidal operation” against the Gaza Strip.

“The United States is complicit in these crimes and must be expelled from the region,” he said, emphasizing that Islamic governments bear a significant responsibility regarding the issue of Palestine.

“Today is not the time for reconciliation, political calculations, or neutrality. Today is not the day to remain silent,” Ayatollah Khamenei said in a speech from the mausoleum of Imam Khomeini in the south of the Iranian capital.

“If any government among the Islamic governments supports the Zionist regime in any way, it must know with certainty that it will carry the mark of eternal shame on its forehead,” he said during the commemoration of the 36th anniversary of the death of the founder of the Islamic Republic.

Addressing Iran’s nuclear program, he said uranium enrichment is crucial and rejected U.S. proposals for Tehran to completely halt the country’s nuclear activities.

“The first thing the United States says is that Iran should not have a nuclear industry and should depend on the United States. Our response to America’s nonsense is clear: they can do absolutely nothing about this issue,” Khamenei said.

His remarks came after President Donald Trump outlined his stance on nuclear negotiations with Iran, stating that Tehran would not be allowed “any uranium enrichment.”

“Uranium enrichment is the key to the nuclear issue, and the enemies have also pointed the finger at enrichment,” the Iranian leader said.
