A journalistic investigation has uncovered disturbing practices in the Gaza “Humanitarian Mission” coordinated by Israel and the United States, where Palestinians queuing desperately for aid face violence, intimidation, and potentially lethal conditions.

Multiple eyewitnesses and security contractors, speaking anonymously for fear of retaliation, revealed that untrained and unsupervised armed personnel are using live ammunition, stun grenades, and pepper spray against civilians during food and supply distributions.

According to one source, Israeli soldiers fire “in all directions,” injuring innocent civilians without cause. Video footage shared with media outlets shows large crowds gathered behind metal gates, intercut with the sounds of gunfire, explosions, and clouds of irritant gas. Other clips captured English-speaking guards laughing and celebrating after dispersing the crowd with live fire.

Witnesses described the environment as one of “unchecked violence,” where impunity reigns and humanitarian protocols are cast aside.

The Gaza Humanitarian Mission, promoted as a relief operation, has been criticized by UN agencies and international NGOs for operating more like a militarized campaign than a civilian-led humanitarian response. Internal documents suggest the mission is run according to military priorities, using armed staff with little or no training in aid logistics.

The result has been described as a “death trap”, where vulnerable Palestinians are forced into chaotic aid zones amid crossfire and flashbangs.

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and Doctors Without Borders (MSF) condemned the operation, citing serious breaches of international humanitarian law and the inhumane treatment of the civilian population.

Since October 2023, more than 57,000 Palestinians have been killed, the majority of them women and children, according to local health authorities and UN agencies. Conditions in Gaza have become catastrophic, with widespread malnutrition, infrastructure collapse, and no safe access to aid.

Israel denies wrongdoing, claiming its forces act only to maintain order. However, the evidence presented in this latest report raises urgent questions about accountability and the weaponization of humanitarian assistance.
