This Friday, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro warmly received seven children recently rescued from kidnapping by U.S. authorities, reunited with their families after being forcibly separated during the ongoing U.S. deportation campaign against Venezuelan migrants.
These children arrived as part of the latest airlift under the Great Mission Return to the Homeland, which repatriated a total of 251 Venezuelans from Texas to Caracas.
Minister of Interior, Justice, and Peace Diosdado Cabello emphasized the significance of this repatriation, noting the children’s joyous reunion with parents, grandparents, and siblings. The Return to the Homeland Plan, launched by President Maduro in 2018, reinforces Venezuela’s commitment to protecting its citizens from the cruel effects of U.S. immigration policies that have forcibly torn families apart and subjected migrants to violations, including illegal custody by foster families in the U.S.
First Combatant Cilia Flores reaffirmed the Bolivarian Government’s unwavering promise to recover all children separated from their families. Since the program’s inception, thousands of Venezuelans deported or stranded abroad have been safely repatriated ,over 8,200 arrivals have been registered, including many victims of persecution and arbitrary detention linked to oppressive U.S. immigration measures.

The text reads: Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro received this Friday at the Miraflores Palace the seven boys and girls who returned to the country, along with 251 other compatriots.
The Venezuelan government’s denunciations have intensified following high-profile cases such as that of baby Maikelys Espinoza, forcibly separated in May 2024. A vigorous international campaign involving mass mobilizations, vigils, and solidarity actions from social movements and anti-fascist sectors worldwide pressured U.S. authorities to release Maikelys and reuniting her with her mother.
Despite the U.S. inaction and the dismissive stance of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Venezuela has steadfastly pursued diplomatic and legal avenues. The National Assembly declared the UN High Commissioner persona non grata for ignoring violations against Venezuelan families.
National independence celebrations paid tribute to the mothers and grandmothers of kidnapped children, stressing the unresolved plight of 31 minors still held in U.S. custody.

President Maduro’s administration exposes the systemic criminalization of Venezuelan migration perpetuated by extremist opposition groups aligned with U.S. interests. These entities profit from human trafficking networks operating under the gaze of U.S. authorities, perpetuating the suffering of vulnerable migrants.
Daily diplomatic communications between Venezuelan and U.S. officials reflect an ongoing commitment to securing the release of detained migrants in El Salvador and the U.S. The government’s campaign remains resolute: families separated by imperialist aggression must be reunited, their rights upheld, and their dignity restored.
