The Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip, issued a call on Wednesday to “the free peoples of the world” to mobilize starting this Friday in protest against the famine in the Palestinian enclave and to continue the demonstrations “until the siege is lifted and the famine ends.”

“In the midst of a disturbing global silence and the absence of any action commensurate with the catastrophe, we call for support for besieged Gaza, for those suffering a slow death, for a people fighting against annihilation with all their might,” the group stated in a communiqué.
Hamas urged for “the largest popular and mass movement” in all capitals and cities around the world on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (July 25, 26, and 27, 2025), as well as on subsequent days, until the blockade imposed on the Strip is lifted.
Since the start of its military offensive against Gaza on October 7, 2023, Israel has severely restricted the entry of food, medicine, and fuel, causing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis.
In March, the situation worsened after the Zionist regime completely cut off access to aid until the end of May. Since then, only a very limited amount of aid has entered the enclave.
The lack of food and basic supplies has led to the deaths of dozens of people in recent weeks, especially children. According to figures from the Gaza Ministry of Health, at least 101 people have died from famine-related causes since the start of the offensive, including 80 minors.
Amnesty International has warned that Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing mass starvation, calling for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, along with the unhindered entry and distribution of humanitarian aid.
