The governors of five provinces in Argentina, all opponents of President Javier Milei’s government, announced the formation of an electoral front ahead of the upcoming legislative elections in October.

“We have decided to run jointly in the October elections, knowing that the current reality demands spokespeople who will defend a working Argentina,” the provincial governors announced on social media.
The creation of the electoral front, named A Federal Cry (Un Grito Federal), was agreed upon this Wednesday by the governors of Chubut (Ignacio Torres), Santa Fe (Maximiliano Pullaro), Córdoba (Martín Llaryora), Jujuy (Carlos Sadir), and Santa Cruz (Claudio Vidal).
The text reads: “A federal cry” 🟠. Governors Ignacio Torres (Chubut), Maximiliano Pullaro (Santa Fe), Martín Llaryora (Córdoba), Carlos Sadir (Jujuy), and Claudio Vidal (Santa Cruz) announced an electoral alliance outside of Peronism 🔵 and La Libertad Avanza 🟣.
All of them belong to various opposition forces against the far-right government of Javier Milei, whose party, La Libertad Avanza, holds only a small minority in both chambers of Congress and aims to increase its presence in the October elections.
In their message, the governors stated that they have “the enormous responsibility of defending the interests” of their provinces and, at the same time, “contributing to Argentina’s governance.”
In their statement, the governors emphasized their dual role: safeguarding the welfare of their provinces while also helping ensure effective national governance. They voiced commitment to fiscal responsibility at both the provincial and federal levels but stressed that vital infrastructure investments are necessary to drive regional growth—calling it the fundamental route to advancing the country as a whole.
“We want a thriving, fair, and safe Argentina. An Argentina without violence or unnecessary divisions. An Argentina where we can live in peace, work with dignity, and dream without limits. Our mission is clear: to build, every day, the Argentina of everyone’s dreams,” they declared.
