Gaza Strip Faces Alarming Surge in Casualties Amid Intensified Attacks
The Gaza Strip has witnessed a devastating escalation in violence, with approximately 300 casualties, including dozens of children and women, reported in the past 24 hours, according to Al Mayadeen’s correspondent. The Gaza Health Ministry confirmed 109 killed and 216 wounded during this period, underscoring the catastrophic humanitarian toll of ongoing Israeli military operations.
Since the start of Israel’s offensive on October 7, 2023, the cumulative death toll has risen to over 53,119, with 120,214 injured. Additionally, since March 18, 2025, at least 2,985 people have been killed and 8,173 wounded in relentless airstrikes and ground assaults. These figures highlight the unprecedented scale of destruction and suffering endured by Gaza’s civilian population.
Trapped Victims and Collapsing Healthcare
The Health Ministry warned that countless victims remain trapped under rubble or stranded in streets, unable to receive medical care due to Israel’s blockade on ambulances and civil defense teams. The situation has worsened as Israeli forces intensify what Palestinian authorities describe as a “war of extermination” across the region, targeting residential areas and critical infrastructure.
International Alarm Over “Extermination War”
Daily massacres and the systematic destruction of homes and communities have plunged Gaza into despair. Survivors face not only the loss of loved ones but also the obliteration of their livelihoods. The international community has expressed growing concern over the crisis, with calls for urgent intervention to halt the violence and restore humanitarian access.
The residents continue to plead for protection and aid, as the strip’s healthcare system teeters on collapse. The UN and human rights groups accuse Israel of violating international law through indiscriminate attacks and collective punishment tactics.
