The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported Thursday that at least 103 Palestinians were killed and 219 others injured in the past 24 hours due to continued Israeli airstrikes across the enclave.

The latest casualties bring the total death toll since the start of Israel’s military offensive on October 7, 2023, to 56,259, with 132,458 wounded, according to the ministry’s updated figures.

Among the victims were 45 people killed in Gaza City, including seven members of a single family, following a series of air raids on residential neighborhoods.

The ministry also confirmed the deaths of 12 civilians who were attempting to access food and supplies at distribution centers operated by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF)—a body supported by Israel and the United States. Critics have denounced the GHF as a mechanism for forced displacement and control.

Since GHF began operations in late May, over 550 Palestinians have reportedly died near its aid centers, raising alarm among humanitarian organizations and local authorities.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Wednesday night that he had given the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) a 48-hour deadline to present a new humanitarian aid distribution plan for northern Gaza, citing concerns that Hamas was diverting supplies.

The latest wave of bombings struck densely populated areas, including refugee camps, schools, and shelters. In the Bureij refugee camp, at least three people were injured, while in Sheikh Radwan, five displaced persons were killed when a school-turned-shelter was hit.

Additional strikes were reported in Al-Tuffah, northeast of Gaza City, and in Khan Yunis, where five people died in Al-Mawasi. In Bani Suhaila, four more fatalities were recorded following overnight raids.

The humanitarian situation in Gaza continues to deteriorate, with limited access to medical care, clean water, and food, as hospitals struggle to cope with the influx of casualties and dwindling supplies.

International organizations, including the United Nations and Médecins Sans Frontières, have reiterated calls for an immediate ceasefire and unimpeded humanitarian access to the enclave.

Despite mounting global pressure, Israeli military operations have persisted, with officials maintaining that the strikes are aimed at dismantling Hamas infrastructure and preventing future attacks.

As the conflict enters its ninth month, the civilian toll continues to rise, prompting renewed appeals from human rights groups for accountability and adherence to international humanitarian law.
