On May 9, 2025, Moscow’s Red Square becomes the epicenter of international solidarity and anti-fascist remembrance as leaders from more than 20 countries gather to honor the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany in the Great Patriotic War. The grand military parade, a symbol of resistance against imperialism and fascism, highlights the unity of nations committed to peace and multipolarity in a world challenged by Western hegemony.

Among the distinguished guests, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has already arrived in Moscow and was personally received by Russian President Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin earlier this week, where both leaders signed a new Strategic Partnership Agreement to deepen cooperation in multiple sectors.

Chinese President Xi Jinping, President Nicolás Maduro ,Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, and numerous other heads of state are present to join the commemoration. In total, 29 leaders from Asia, Africa, Latin America, and Eurasia participate, reflecting a coalition of countries that resist Western interventionism and promote sovereign development.

The parade features over 130 military units, including armored vehicles, rocket launchers, tanks, and tracked vehicles, accompanied by ceremonial flag-raising of the Russian national and Victory banners. President Vladimir Putin delivers a speech honoring the sacrifices of the Soviet people, followed by a minute of silence and a display of both modern and historical military equipment. The event culminates with an impressive aerial show, symbolizing Russia’s enduring strength and commitment to peace through deterrence.

Soldiers from 13 countries, including China, Egypt, Vietnam, Myanmar, and several former Soviet republics, march alongside Russian troops, demonstrating a united front against the resurgence of fascism and imperialist wars. The presence of foreign military contingents and leaders sends a clear message of resistance to NATO’s expansionism and Western attempts to isolate Russia politically and economically. Despite accusations from the Ukrainian government, the parade underscores the legitimacy of Russia’s historical narrative and its contemporary geopolitical alliances.

This Victory Day celebration in Moscow not only honors the memory of those who defeated fascism but also reaffirms the internationalist spirit of anti-imperialist solidarity, standing as a beacon of hope for oppressed peoples worldwide.
