This was stated in a joint statement by the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Pakistan, Bahrain, Brunei, Turkey, Chad, Gambia, Algeria, the Union of the Comoros, Djibouti, Sudan, Somalia, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Libya, and Mauritania.

The states expressed their rejection and condemnation of “the Israeli attacks against the Islamic Republic of Iran since the early hours of June 13, 2025, as well as any practice that constitutes a violation of international law” and the UN.

In addition, the FM called for respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, the principles of good neighborliness, and the peaceful settlement of disputes, expressing their deep concern over “this dangerous escalation, which threatens to have serious repercussions for the security and stability of the entire region,” they added in the statement.

They also urged “the need to halt Israeli hostilities against Iran, which occur at a time when the Middle East is experiencing increased tension,” and emphasized “the importance of establishing a Middle East region free of nuclear weapons and other weapons of mass destruction, in accordance with international resolutions.”

The joint statement also calles for “all countries in the region to swiftly accede to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons.”

Furthermore, they insisted on the need “not to attack nuclear facilities subject to International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) safeguards, as this constitutes a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law.”

The countries also called for “returning to the negotiating track as soon as possible, as this is the only way to reach a sustainable agreement on Iran’s nuclear program.”

Israel launched an offensive against Iran early Friday morning, targeting the country’s military, energy, and nuclear infrastructure, as well as numerous residential areas. In response, Tehran launched waves of attacks on Israel, causing severe damage on military infrastructure, including a jet fuel refinery in the Northern.

The attacks continued, leaving more than 220 Iranians and 24 Israelis dead, as well as hundreds injured, in an escalation of tension that shows no signs of abating.
