The Cuban government has issued an urgent call for international mobilization to stop what it describes as a dangerous military escalation by Israel against Iran, warning of the risk of a direct U.S. intervention and a potential nuclear catastrophe.

In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cuba expressed its “deep concern” over the possibility of the conflict turning nuclear or causing radioactive leaks, with “devastating consequences” for humanity.

The statement accused Washington of acting as a “destabilizing force” through its financial, political, and military support for Israel, as well as its threatening rhetoric and recent deployment of military assets in the region.

Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel echoed the warning on social media, stating: “Israel and the United States are dragging humanity into unforeseeable consequences with the Zionist aggression against Iran. I urgently call for international mobilization to prevent a nuclear threat in time”.

The Cuban government confirmed the partial evacuation of its embassy in Tehran, including women, children, and journalists, amid ongoing Israeli airstrikes on Iranian territory.

According to Israeli military sources, 200 Iranian missile launchers have been destroyed since Friday, though Iran is believed to retain over 100 more. In retaliation, Iran has reportedly launched 450 missiles and 1,000 drones toward Israel, some from Iraq and other locations.

The conflict has so far claimed 224 lives in Iran and 24 in Israel, with fears mounting over further escalation.
