In the East, units 6 of Nuevitas and Renté are being activated from local microsystems, although the general restoration of electrical service is taking longer than expected.

On the other hand, the Cuban president, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez informed the people about the efforts to restore the National Electroenergetic System after a fall caused by a breakdown in the substation of the Diezmero. This caused a major generation loss in the west of the country and the collapse of the electricity system.

Microsystems are being implemented in several provinces and synchronizing generation units. The Cuban national electricity system is in the process of recovery after a disruption. Units of generation are being started in different microsystems of the country, including Renté in Santiago de Cuba, Nuevitas in Camagüey, and the plants of Energás in the west.

The strategy focuses on powering key thermal power plants and substations from these micro-systems to gradually restore electricity supply in the east and west.
