At least 18 Palestinians were killed overnight in a new wave of Israeli airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, following a bloody Monday that claimed 89 lives, including 31 civilians who died while seeking humanitarian aid, according to the Gaza Ministry of Health.

The attacks targeted densely populated areas in Khan Younis and Gaza City, where Israel has intensified its military campaign following the cabinet’s approval of a plan to occupy Gaza City and displace its population.

Medical sources at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis confirmed the arrival of five bodies and multiple wounded after a strike on a tent sheltering displaced civilians in the Al-Majayda area.

In Gaza City, four members of the Al-Hosari family were killed when their home near Al-Farouk Mosque in the Zeitoun neighborhood was bombed. Additional strikes hit the Al-Sahaba and Al-Nadeem areas, with reports of entire families trapped under rubble.

The Civil Defense of Gaza reported that the 18 deaths occurred in the early hours of Tuesday amid a surge in aerial bombardments. Spokesperson Mahmoud Basel, who has been on hunger strike to protest Israel’s blockade, stated:

“For the third consecutive day, Israel has bombed Zeitoun and Sabra with all types of weapons. A single projectile can destroy five homes at once.”

The Ministry of Health confirmed that 100 civilians were killed in the past 24 hours, including 11 bodies recovered from the rubble, and 513 people were injured.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign has killed more than 61,499 Palestinians and wounded 153,575, according to official figures. The humanitarian situation continues to deteriorate, with 222 deaths from starvation, including 101 children, as aid access remains severely restricted.
