Venezuela’s Revolutionary Coalition Wins 23 Governorships

Earlier, on Sunday night, the National Electoral Council (CNE) announced that the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) had won 23 out of 24 governorships.

The Bolivarian Revolution also secured 40 out of 50 seats in the National Assembly. Among the new legislators will be current ALBA Secretary Jorge Arreaza. The full statement from ALBA-TCP is presented below:

“The ALBA member states applaud and congratulate the people and government of the sister Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela for the resounding success of the legislative and regional elections held this Sunday, May 25, 2025.

The Venezuelan people peacefully exercised their right to vote to elect the national legislative power, regional legislative councils and governors, in a day marked by peace and civic participation.

Despite the ongoing international aggression against the Venezuelan people and the repeated and erratic calls from the extremist opposition to boycott the elections, more than 6,000 candidates from 54 political organizations contested parliamentary seats and regional governorships in a process that resulted in a broad victory for the parties of the Great Patriotic Pole Simon Bolivar, under the leadership of President Nicolas Maduro and the leadership of the Bolivarian Revolution.

Venezuela has successfully held 32 electoral processes in the 25 years of the Bolivarian Revolution. Therefore, ALBA recognizes in this new election the deep democratic and sovereign character of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and extends its congratulations to the candidates of all political currents who participated in such an important electoral contest.”
