Venezuela’s acting president, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that 626 people have been released from prison, while insisting that anti-political sectors persist in manipulating the figures.

In the meeting, she stated: “On Monday, I will have a phone call with the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Türk, and I will ask him to have his office verify the list of those released from prison in Venezuela.”

“It has come at a very high cost, for the children, for our youth, for those who had to suffer the horror of external aggression,” emphasized the acting president. Likewise, Rodríguez declared, “There must be responsibility in the practice of politics.” “Enough of lying to our people through algorithms and social media that seek to sow violence, hatred, and death,” she said.

In this context, she noted, “An algorithm of death sells more than life,” reflecting on the responsibility to isolate those anti-political sectors that have led to extremism and fascism applauding military aggression against the country, invasions of Venezuela, and the blockade against the country. Along those lines, Rodríguez stated, “Our work must be very arduous, through culture, education, and the media.”

“Peace also depends on economic peace. Let’s gather a pool of ideas to build this plan for democratic coexistence in Venezuela,” the head of state pointed out.

During the meeting, Rodríguez cited the results of an opinion poll conducted in December 2025 by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The survey reveals that 85% of Venezuelans prefer national agreements to confrontation, which, according to the government, reinforces the relevance of the new coexistence program.

Furthermore, the UNDP technical report highlights that 99% of respondents are proud of their Venezuelan identity, while 64% consider it urgent to build a common destiny based on peace. Likewise, 60% of the population expresses full trust in their fellow citizens, a key indicator of social capital that underpins the possibility of dialogue and cohesion. These data scientifically validate the path of sovereign understanding as a pillar for the country’s future stability.

The acting president asserted, “I ask that we look to what it means to be Venezuelan, and from our pluralism, those of us who think differently but are united by the consolidation of a participatory democracy from the ground up, and united by our love for peace and the future of Venezuela.”
