At least 34 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured early Friday in two separate Israeli attacks in the central Gaza Strip, according to medical sources and humanitarian organizations.

The first strike targeted Al-Shuhada Junction, just north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, where large crowds had gathered in hopes of receiving humanitarian aid. Israeli forces reportedly opened fire and shelled the area, killing 23 people and wounding many others, several of whom remain in critical condition at Al-Awda Hospital.

In a separate incident, Israeli warplanes bombed a residential home in the Al-Ma’asara area, west of Deir al-Balah, killing 11 civilians, according to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society. The wounded were transported to Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital.

These attacks come amid a broader pattern of deadly strikes on aid distribution sites, which have become increasingly frequent. Just a day earlier, over 80 Palestinians were killed in similar incidents across the Strip, including 16 people at the Netzarim Corridor while waiting for food.

Since the start of Israel’s military campaign on October 7, 2023, Gaza’s Health Ministry reports 55,706 deaths and 130,101 injuries, with thousands more feared trapped under rubble.

Despite UN Security Council resolutions and International Court of Justice directives calling for an immediate ceasefire and protection of civilians, the bombardment continues unabated.
