Uzbekistan and Central Asia Together to Overthrow the World’s Scourges

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov , addressed the UN member states during the 79th General Assembly, with a message of peace from Central Asia to the world.

On behalf of Uzbekistan, the minister assured the importance of the UN to bring countries together and achieve the goals of sustainable development and conflict resolution.
The Chancellor spoke of the times that Uzbekistan is experiencing with challenges such as inequality, climate change, poverty, the world economy, technological gaps and wars.
These problems and challenges cited by the chancellor, give rise to scourges such as extremism, terrorism, drug trafficking and corruption, evils found on a global scale.
From the point of view of Uzbekistan, these evils must be prevented, always advocating the prevalence of human dignity and the rights of each person, taking a rehabilitation and de-radicalization approach, opposing segregation.
Another challenge he seeks to address, Tashkent, is climate change and mitigation in Central Asia. The chancellor addressed the Aral Sea disaster and how international cooperation is necessary to overcome the climate crisis and achieve sustainable development in the region.
Another notable issue was the technological advancement of the region, the chancellor said that it is a right to access technology, as well as artificial intelligence as a tool for international cooperation and sustainable development.
“Despite the challenges that Uzbekistan faces, we are betting on technological development,” said the Uzbek Minister of Relations.
