Russian Troops Liberate Prohres and Yevgenivka in Donetsk

Over the last 24 hours, Ukrainian troops lost 385 soldiers and five vehicles.

On Sunday, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed that its country’s army has taken full control of the villages of Prohres and Yevgenivka in the Donetsk region.

In the last 24 hours, Ukrainian troops lost 385 soldiers and five vehicles, Russian military officials confirmed. Earlier on Saturday, Russia also claimed control over Lozuvatske in the Donetsk region.

Over the past week, the Russian army also announced the liberation of the village of Ivano-Drivka, on the road to the strategic stronghold of Toretsk, which is one of the Russian command’s main objectives.

The capture of Toretsk is important for Moscow since it would allow its troops to access a key road for supplying part of the Ukrainian forces deployed in the area.

On a related topic, RIA Novosti news agency reported on Saturday that Russia is concerned about a recently announced guideline between the U.S. and South Korea on joint nuclear planning.

“Another worrying aspect is that the United States has recently concluded an agreement with South Korea on joint nuclear planning,” Russian Foreign Affairs Minister Sergei Lavrov said, adding that Russia has not yet received an explanation regarding the guideline.

On July 11, U.S. and South Korean leaders a guideline that “provides guidance to Alliance policy and military authorities in maintaining and strengthening a credible and effective nuclear deterrence policy and posture,” according to the White House.
