Nicolás Maduro firma promulgación de la Ley Orgánica Simón Bolívar

In a significant act that reflects the position of the Venezuelan government against international sanctions, President Nicolás Maduro signed the promulgation of the Simón Bolívar Organic Law against the Imperialist Blockade and in Defense of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela this Friday.

The signing took place during the closing of the International Conference on Solidarity with Palestine, held in the Venezuelan capital.

The Simón Bolívar Organic Law, which was ratified by the National Assembly in its second discussion on the previous day, aims to establish a legal framework that counteracts the effects of sanctions imposed by the United States.

President Maduro emphasized that this legislation is a tool to “do justice” and “defend Venezuela” against what he considers threats from U.S. imperialism and its allies.

“I hereby sign the law bearing the name of Liberator Simón Bolívar in the name of the people of Venezuela and their right to peace and happiness. Signed, endorsed, and executed as of now. ¡Let’s go, let no one stop us!” the President declared after signing the document, underlining his commitment to defending national sovereignty.

In his speech, Maduro did not hold back criticism of the recent approval by the U.S. House of Representatives of a law that also intended to pay tribute to Simón Bolívar.

The Venezuelan president referred to this initiative as “Garbage Law,” arguing that it seeks to declare an economic war against Venezuela. “The law of infamy; they intend to put the name of the Liberator on a law to declare economic war on Venezuela,” he said forcefully.

The new legislation not only seeks to protect the nation from external sanctions but also disqualifies those who support or promote these coercive measures, as well as those who attempt to destabilize the country. This promulgation comes amid growing geopolitical tension and a firm rejection by the Venezuelan government of external pressures.

With this action, Maduro reaffirms his position of resistance to systematic attacks against Venezuelan sovereignty while seeking to galvanize internal and external support at a critical moment for the country.

The promulgation of the Simón Bolívar Organic Law represents a new chapter in the government’s narrative about the struggle against imperialism and the defense of the rights of the Venezuelan people.
