The President of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted the support in defense of the country and the region of Latin America and the Caribbean as a Zone of Peace, expressed by most of the countries and member groups of the United Nations (UN), in the midst of the multiform aggression that the United States is carrying out with a large military deployment near the Venezuelan coast.
In his program Con Maduro+, the Venezuelan president affirmed that the delegation led by Foreign Minister Yván Gil, successfully completed its participation in the 80th General Assembly of the United Nations, held from September 23 to 29 in New York City.
During the meetings, Venezuela consolidated the support of various regional and global blocs, including the Bolivarian Alliance (ALBA), the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), the BRICS (a bloc led by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) and the Non-Aligned Movement, which brings together 120 nations.

President Maduro also highlighted that a private meeting was held with UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who reaffirmed the importance of preserving Latin America and the Caribbean as a territory of peace.
In addition, he expressed his concern about the escalation of aggressions against Venezuela during the last seven weeks. He also stressed that Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez and Caribbean leaders expressed “almost in unison, a single voice from the Caribbean in support of Venezuela, because the Caribbean wants peace.”
He also emphasized the strong support of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Russia and China, and other countries that expressed the need for international law to be respected and Venezuelan sovereignty not to be violated.
In this context, he highlighted the transformation that has taken place in recent years in the field of international relations, where “a multipolar world that does not accept mandate, order or hegemony from any country” is visible.
The Venezuelan head of state compared what happened a few years ago and what happened at the 80th UN General Assembly: “Once the president of the United States speaks at the United Nations Assembly, then at least 100 countries repeat the main ideas of the president of the United States and openly support him.
This time it did not happen. This time not even Israel. Because Netanyahu spoke with an empty room.”
In this sense, he stated that Zionism is losing support and its plans of extermination against the Palestinian, Lebanese, Syrian and Iranian population are openly condemned
