This Thursday, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced a new operation under the Plan Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland Plan), which will bring back 306 Venezuelan migrants from the United States through Mexico. This initiative aims to protect Venezuelan citizens from abuses and illegalities associated with the recent wave of mass deportations ordered by the U.S. administration.
During an event at Bolívar Park in La Carlota, Caracas, President Maduro emphasized the importance of this plan and his commitment to migrants. “I have ordered an increase in all diplomatic actions to bring back all Venezuelan men and women from the United States,” he stated. The operation is being coordinated with Diosdado Cabello, who will oversee the logistical aspects of the return.
The president also highlighted that he has instructed Dr. Jorge Rodríguez, special envoy for peace negotiations with the U.S. government, to intensify the necessary efforts to facilitate the return of migrants who have been deported and are currently detained under irregular conditions.
President Maduro reiterated his commitment to ensuring that all detained migrants return to their country in a process that respects their dignity and rights. “We will bring back all detained migrants to give them respect, dignity, support, and to ensure they return to their homeland and their families,” he firmly stated.
