teleSUR marks 1968, a year remembered for important social conflicts and popular rebellions against repressive states, militarism and capitalism.

 

It was 50 years ago that uprisings and radical movements broke out across the world, from the radicalization of the civil rights movement in the United States to the massive student protests in France, Mexico and Brazil.

 

Meanwhile, revolution was in the air in the developing and colonized world as the Vietnamese communist forces launched the decisive Tet Offensive in spite of continued brutality from the U.S. military, and other major revolts took place from Malaysia to Peru.
