Democratic candidate Bloomberg was the target of criticism during and after the Nevada debate on Wednesday evening.

Six Democratic candidates faced each other on Wednesday in the highly-anticipated televised debate in Las Vegas, Nevada, where billionaire Michael Bloomberg, considered the Democratic version of current President Donald Trump, made his debut.

In the debate to win the primaries that will decide that party's candidate for this year's U.S. elections, aspirants Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren and Amy Klobuchar, former vice president Joe Biden and former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, Pete Buttigieg, exposed Bloomberg's wastefulness during his campaign.

So far, Bloomberg, who made his debut in front of the cameras on Wednesday after running for president last November - a year after the other candidates - has so far invested hundreds of millions of dollars in self-financed television spots and carefully choreographed personal appearances, according to the Democratic aspirants.

"I'm spending that money to get rid of Donald Trump, the worst president we've ever had. If I can do that, it will be a great contribution to the U.S. and my children." Bloomberg said.

However, Sanders noted that U.S has a "grotesque and immoral distribution of wealth and income," noting that Bloomberg "possesses more wealth than the 125 million poorest U.S. citizens."

In Nevada, they also questioned Bloomberg's treatment of women, based on comments the communications magnate has made in past years.

We're dealing with a billionaire who calls women fat broads and horse-face lesbians. And, no, I'm not talking about Donald Trump, I'm talking about Bloomberg," warned Elizabeth Warren.

"The Democrats and America are taking a big risk if we replace one arrogant billionaire with another," Warren said.
