The song is a part of a broader campaign to make the leftist thinker and his works more relatable to young people.

Chinese state media have released a new rap song about Karl Marx and Marxism in an attempt to make both appealing to youth, the Asian Correspondent reported Thursday.

The song, titled “Marx is a post-90,” which in China refers to a millennial, includes lyrics that describe how a Chinese youth discovers how great Marxism is after learning his teachings.

The song will soon accompany a TV show that will expose younger audiences to Marixsm in a more relatable way.

The song’s writer, Zhuo Sina, said in an interview with People’s Daily that the lyrics are intended to show how Marxism is still relevant today.

“If this song could change students’ attitudes toward Marx and prompt greater willingness to learn about Marxism, then I think that’s a good thing,” she added.
