Israeli Attack Kills Four And Injures 232 In The Gaza Strip

Israeli forces attacked three Hamas' positions on Friday, according to an army statement. The Israeli military also shot and killed four Palestinians and wounded 232, 180 of them from live fire, during protests along the border with Gaza on Friday, Palestinian medical officials said.

The victims were part of the protesters of the March of Return - done every Friday since March 30, when they were attacked by the Israeli forces. According to an Israeli army statement, 16,000 Palestinians gathered along the Gaza border.

According to the information released by Palestinian Health Authorities, the persons killed were; 25-years old Ibrahim Abu Humaisa; 27-year old Mohamed Khaled Mahmoud Abdel Abi; 19-year old Nassar Iyad Abu Tim; 22-year old Ahmed Said Abu Libdeh and 23-year old Ayesh Ghassan Sha'at. A voluntary medic is among the injured with a leg wound, he was injured in Bureij, according to the Palestinian health authorities.

Gaza has been under Israeli blockade since 2007, putting the region’s population of more than two million Palestinians into a humanitarian crisis due to the lack of access to medicine, food, clean water, free movement, as well as basic civil rights.

Since the protests began, 212 Gazans have been killed by Israeli troops, according to Palestinian Health Ministry figures. Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman, said protests would continue "until we achieve our goals, and first and foremost, by ending the blockade of the Gaza Strip".
