Qatar is expected to attend this conference on Thursday along with several other GCC countries that currently have no diplomatic ties with the small Gulf nation.
According to The Guardian, Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani was personally invited to attend the meeting by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud.
A Qatari plane will be allowed to land at the Red Sea port city of Jeddah, following Saudia Arabia's aerial blockade on the neighboring Gulf nation. Saudi airspace remains closed for all other Qatari flights, as it has been for the two years of the boycott.
The two neighboring Gulf countries broke off diplomatic relations in 2017 after Saudi Arabia accused Qatar of mingling in their affairs and aiding the Muslim Brotherhood organization, who Saudi Arabia considers to be a terrorist group.
Following the disruption of diplomatic relations, Saudi Arabia and their GCC allies began their two-year-long economic siege of Qatar.
