World Cup: 'Super Eagles' Fashion-Forward Kit Soars Globally

Nigeria's 'Super Eagles' soccer outfit have grabbed the attention of the world before the FIFA World Cup has even begun in Russia.

The Nigerians will be making their sixth appearance – the most by an African nation – at the tournament. The group touched down in Russia, clad in traditional Nigerian attire, causing a frenzy across various media platforms.

“First, it was the announcement of their tournament kits that sent football supporters crazy. Now it is their travel attire that has got everybody talking,” the Daily Mail wrote.

While BBC Sports reporter, John Bennett, tweeted: “First the amazing shirts, now these outfits… The Nigeria team is not only just getting on the plane to Russia but already winning.”

“Nigeria once again won the fashion stakes at this year’s World Cup with their incredible travel outfit,” The Sun said.

The African team has always managed to endear themselves to casual football viewers and hardcore fans alike.

The footballers have, over the years, cemented themselves among the fashion forward. Earlier this year the 'Super Eagles' released tournament kits and tracksuits which gained global popularity.

The kit sold out in less than three hours of release and has been named 'the best at the World Cup' by several polls, including broadcaster Sky.

In certain instances, the jerseys are being sold online for more than double the official retail price.

The Nigerians topped a difficult group during qualifying and are the World Cup's youngest team. The squad has an average age of 25.3 years.

The 'Super Eagles' arrived in Russia on Monday for the tournament.
