The Venezuelan social program known as Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor restored 114,000 homes in low-income neighborhoods in 2015.
Government officials also inaugurated a new wet mortar facility in the state of Merida on Wednesday that will contribute material for further restorations in 2016.
The renovated homes are in addition to 1 million homes delivered to Venezuelan families since the launch of the Housing Grand Mission in 2011.
Both social programs are aimed at providing dignified homes to low-income Venezuelans as housing is a right in the country guaranteed in the constitution.

We should guarantee our people that they can count on a dignified home
“From this facility we will help in the construction works of the Housing Grand Mission and the Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor Grand Mission,” said Elias Sanchez, lead engineer, during the unveiling of the mortar facility.
The facility has the capacity to produce enough material to restore 375 homes a day. It is one of 49 created throughout the country to support the aim of building housing for all Venezuelans.

With the Mortar Facility in the Sucre municipality, four corridors in the state of Merida will be served
Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor has also created 175 new parks in low-income neighborhoods throughout the country.
The funding for these housing programs was made possible partially through a bilateral agreement between Venezuela and China, which supported the purchase of the equipment.
