“If Colombia needs advice and technical support from the Venezuelan military, we’re ready to help combat narco trafficking in Colombia," Maduro said during a speech while promoting the government’s Social Justice Mission for Social Peace.

Maduro also called on U.S. President Donald Trump to end drug trafficking between Colombia and the United States.

"If you want to end drug production and narco trafficking in Latin America, let’s sit down together and talk and I assure you we can end drug production, which has destroyed the youth of the U.S.," Maduro said.

The president went on to say that Venezuela has eradicated 21 hectares of drugs in Zulia, a state that borders Colombia and has heavy drug production and trafficking. Around 410,000 plants were destroyed to keep the country free of illicit drug cultivation.

The government also confiscated four vehicles, six guns and five trafficking routes where drugs, fuel and food are transported. Government forces also found an illegal lab with 800 kilos of chemicals and 3,100 liters of fuel. Several border states with Colombia are run by right-wing opposition leaders who have been suspected of involvement in drug production and trafficking.

The Social Justice Mission aims to expand peace through music and arts, increase social safety and security, promote justice and eradicate drug trafficking.
