"Here are the resources, for the municipalities as well, which total 471,903 million bolivares, thanks to the collection of taxes returned to the regions in public investment," Maduro said during the High-Level Workshop for Strategic Planning Towards a New Stage in the Bolivarian Revolution in Caracas' Miraflores Palace.

Maduro held several meetings where he approved the final documents and resources for the projects to be developed across the states and said there had been discussions in the areas of security, public works, health and economy.

The budget will go toward the continuity and strengthening of social programs, food supplies and the creation of projects that contribute towards the strengthening of the national economy.

He said the workshop had addressed the areas of production and supply and the fight against the economic war, which he said was one of the tactics used by right wing to attack the Bolivarian Revolution and his government.

"We will continue to win politically and morally and will concentrate on building an economy that overcomes the power of the oligarchy, the financial oligarchy and all its capacity for harm," Maduro said.

The 18 governors who won the recent regional elections under the ruling party United Socialist Party of Venezuela were also part of the meetings.

Four of the five governors elected from opposition parties have already been sworn-in before Venezuela's National Constituent Assembly.

Maduro returned to the capital after touring the country to attend the swearing-in ceremonies of the governors elected in the previous elections and said that "he was preparing for a week of new triumphs for the country," in relation to the upcoming vote for mayors due to take place in the coming months.
