GlobalLeaks showed collaboration between al-Otaiba and a pro-Israel think-tank to discredit Qatar.

According to the Huffington Post, leaked emails revealed United Arab Emirates' ambassador to the U.S. criticizing President Donald Trump.

The media outlet reportedly received a series of emails that detailed Ambassador Yousef al-Otaiba belittling Trump.

One of the emails showed an exchange between al-Otaiba and Obama's former chief adviser on the Middle East, Rob Malley, on election night."You got room for me in Abu Dhabi?" Malley wrote to al-Otaiba. "This isn't funny," the UAE ambassador replied. "How, why is this happen. On what planet can Trump be a president."

In another exchange, right wing commentator Judith Miller sent al-Otaiba a series of tweets from a Saudi whistle-blower who allegedly criticized Emirati Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. The diplomat responded, "the 7 minutes I spent reading this was the equivalent of watching 7 minutes of Donald Trump. A waste of my time."

On Saturday, U.S. media reported that the emails released by GlobalLeaks showed which showed a collaborative effort by al-Otaiba and a pro-Israel think-tank to seemingly discredit Qatar.

The ambassador is a well-known figure in U.S. national security circles, who had previously been invited to participate in Pentagon strategy meetings.

U.S. and UAE officials have not commented on the recent leak.

On Monday, the UAE, along with Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, Yemen and the Maldives severed diplomatic ties with Qatar.
